Sheena Wosley

“I want to make sure our members have access at their fingertips. One of those things is just being able to contact me for anything. I can answer their questions and if I don’t know the answer, I know someone who does. I want to make sure that they’re getting connected to their providers, they have transportation and they don’t have medication barriers. Whatever their need is, I make sure that I get that out in a timely manner and get back to them so we can resolve those issues.”

Guadalupe Treadway

“I had a client that was in a car accident and hid in her house for eight years without help due to her citizenship status. From the accident, she had a head injury and suicidal thoughts, and the idea to harm someone else several times a day so she hid herself in her room. When I got her case, we helped her with the paperwork process to get a social security card and get temporary Medicaid. I went with her to all of her appointments and she wanted me to interpret for her because she trusted me. I helped that client for over a year and educated her on how to call doctors, how to ask for an interpreter. She went from being scared to leave her house to now where she has become so much more independent. I am very proud of her progress.”

Ambyr Frost

“I’ve come to realize that as a Community Health Worker, it is such an important role. Especially during this time when people don’t want to or can’t leave their homes. There are so many people that need many things, not just healthcare-related. Sometimes it is something as simple as building a stool, one-on-one connection, or they have social anxiety and they can’t go out into the public. Being able and having the opportunity to go out and help people in their homes and make it more comfortable for them is very important.”
