KS Community Health Worker Coalition

Jackie Catron

Jackie Catron is the Section Director for the Community Health Worker Program at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Jackie received her Masters of Public Health from Des Moines University and Bachelors in Health Care Administration from Washburn University. Prior to joining KDHE, Jackie worked in the Long Term Care Industry as a Physical Therapy Assistance and Director of Rehab, then as a Nursing Home Administrator. While working in long term care she learned first-hand that a patient’s health is affected by many areas of their lives. She advocated for all members of her team to treat the whole patient, look at every aspect and root cause analyses, determine what the patient wants, what makes them happy, and then work on what they need to be healthier. Jackie has a passion for treating the whole person and believes every person has a right to a happy, healthy live.
