A broad background in nursing with targeted expertise in community education and certifications ranging from childbirth education, early childhood development, women’s health including mid-life health and wellness, men’s health, and community wellness and prevention of chronic disease. A member of EITAS and UMKC Institute for Human Development design team to educate personal care assistants and community health workers working with persons with intellectual and physical disabilities. Established a Perinatal and Women’s Mental Health program for a major hospital system to include individual and group counseling.
Current Adjunct Faculty for the Community Health Worker Course and former Industry Healthcare Coordinator at Metropolitan Community College, Institute for Workforce Innovation. Coordinator of a team that developed the Community Health Worker Course currently offered. Course is recognized by the State of Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services Division and is being shared with other Community Colleges in MO.
