Lucy Watie

Lucy Watie is a Community Health Worker for LiveWell Finney County Health Coalition with a decade of healthcare experience.

She focuses on supporting individuals living with HIV in rural communities providing critical support for medical appointments, transportation, medication adherence, addressing mental health, substance use disorders, and social determinants of health.

Lucy is a highly regarded member of her community, renowned for her commitment to service and active involvement in community-based organizations. In 2023, she took the initiative to establish the first cohort of promotoras de salud in her community, demonstrating her strong belief in the essential role these advocates play in promoting health and well-being across all communities

She holds a position on the K-State Research and Extension board and serves as the secretary of the Kansas Community Health Worker Coalition. In addition, she actively volunteers on the school site council, hospital site council, chamber of commerce, Local Health Equity Action Team (LHEAT), and various health coalitions.

Lucy lives in Southwest Kansas with her husband, Kelly. Together, they have three children, seven granddaughters, and one grandson. In her leisure time, Lucy finds joy in playing the piano, golfing, and participating in softball. She also cherishes the moments spent with her grandchildren.
