Bertha Mendoza

Bertha was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and grew up on a farm where she studied agriculture before coming to the United States in 1993. She lives in Holcomb, KS and her interests are education, youth/family development, nutrition, and health. Bertha is the EFNEP/FNP Extension Agent for the Southwest Area Office since 2009 and believes in the value of creating community partnerships and actively pursues collaboration as a way to address important community issues. She works to empower adults to return to school and earn their Diploma. Bertha has also provided adult and family literacy education and serves in the fields of nutrition and health for youth and adults with limited resources and diverse cultural backgrounds. She’s also a Master Trainer for the Kansas Self-Management Education program.
